What are head lice? 

Anyone can become infected if they come in contact with an infected person. The tiny insects hide in hair and bite the scalp to drink the host’s blood. 

What are the Symptoms of Head Lice? 

  • Constant scalp itchiness is the most common symptom caused by head lice. 
  • Upon inspection, you”ll see sand-like dots on the scalp and base of hair strands. 
  • Which are eggs or nits, of the lice. 
  • It's rare to see adult lice, which are the color and size of a sesame seed. 
  • Unless it’s severe or you're using a lice comb to pull the insects out of hair. 
  • If scratching with force, you may notice scalp redness or even sores. 

 Home remedies for Head Lice :-

Tip 1:-

  • Grind garlic cloves and mix with either lime juice or coconut oil. 
  • Apply to the scalp. 
  • Leave for 30 minutes. 
  • Wash hair with hot water. 
  • Repeat regularly for best results

Tip 2:-

  • Apply olive oil to the scalp before bed. 
  • Cover with a shower cap or a towel and leave overnight. 
  • In the morning, comb hair to remove dead lice. 
  • Wash with herbal shampoo. 
  • Repeat regularly for best results. 

Tip 3:-

  • Boil neem leaves in water for 10 minutes. 
  • Use the water to rinse hair. 
  • Repeat twice weekly to get rid of head lice. 

Tip 4:-

  • Mix salt and vinegar in an empty spray bottle. 
  • Spritz entire head until wet. 
  • Cover with a shower cap or towel and leave for 2 hours. 
  • Wash hair with shampoo and conditioner. 
  • Repeat once every three days for best results. 

Tip 5:-

  • Apply mayonnaise to the scalp. 
  • Cover with a shower cap or towel and leave overnight. 
  • In the morning,shampoo hair. 
  • Comb hair to remove dead lice. 
  • Repeat daily for a week for best results.
